About The Role
Polaris Bank is seeking a Head of E‑Banking Operations and Government Collections to lead and oversee online transaction operations, reconciliation, and settlement activities across its digital platforms and government collection channels. This senior role focuses on ensuring accurate processing, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency for high‑volume e‑transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily reconciliation of electronic banking transactions.
- Ensure timely settlement procedures with partner banks, payment gateways, and government agencies.
- Investigate and resolve transaction discrepancies and exceptions.
- Implement and maintain automated reconciliation systems that support operational accuracy.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements relating to payments and settlements.
- Develop, enforce, and refine policies and procedures for reconciliation and settlement operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve efficiency in transaction processes.
- Prepare and present reconciliation and performance reports to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates should have:
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in e‑banking, digital operations, or related functions within a commercial bank.
- In‑depth technical knowledge of payment systems such as the Nigeria Inter‑Bank Settlement System (NIBSS), card schemes (Visa/Mastercard), and government collection platforms (e.g., Remita).
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, and operational controls.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage high‑volume operations with precision.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business, or related disciplines. Professional certifications (e.g., CIBN, ACA, ACCA) are an advantage.
