About The Program

The Allan & Nesta Ferguson Scholarships are prestigious fully funded awards offered to academically outstanding students from eligible developing countries who wish to pursue a one‑year, full‑time taught Master’s degree at the University of Leeds in the UK. 

The scholarships are funded by the Allan & Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust, which promotes international education, global understanding, and development.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Allan & Nesta Ferguson Scholarships, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen and permanent resident of a developing country (as listed by the World Bank)
  • Have applied for a one‑year, full‑time taught Master’s programme at the University of Leeds starting in September 2026
  • Study a programme related to economic, social, or technological development of their home country
  • Not hold extensive study experience (1 year or more) in a developed nation
  • Demonstrate financial need and inability to self‑fund UK studies
  • Meet the English language requirements of the University of Leeds
