About The Program
The GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders offer fully funded postgraduate training to exceptional students from sub‑Saharan Africa who are committed to strengthening health systems and advancing public health research in their home region.
This prestigious scholarship enables recipients to pursue a one‑year, full‑time MSc at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), one of the world’s leading institutions for global health education and research.
Benefits

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders, applicants must:
- Be nationals and residents of sub‑Saharan African countries
- Hold (or expect) a first degree at first or upper second‑class equivalency
- Have an offer of admission for a London‑based, full‑time MSc programme at LSHTM for 2026–27
- Meet LSHTM’s minimum English language requirements by 15 June 2026
- Intend to return to sub‑Saharan Africa after completion of the MSc programme
- Demonstrate financial need (unable to self‑fund the MSc)
Preferred applicants show strong potential to contribute to health systems and research in Africa.

- Scholarship decisions: Approx. Week beginning 1 June 2026
- Programme start: Autumn/September 2026
Important Notes
- This scholarship is highly competitive with only three awards available each cycle.
- Applicants must hold an MSc offer before starting the scholarship application.
- Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
How To Apply
Step 1: Apply for your chosen London‑based MSc programme at LSHTM for the 2026–27 academic year.
Step 2: Once you receive confirmation of your MSc application, complete the GSK Scholarships application form online via LSHTM’s scholarship portal before the scholarship deadline.
