About The Program
The McKinsey Forward Program is a free, five-month online learning journey designed to equip young African talents with essential practical skills to succeed in the future of work. This transformative program focuses on critical leadership, business, and digital skills that are relevant and transferable across industries and roles.
Delivered in an interactive, virtual format, the program begins with exploring foundational skills, then applying them to case studies based on real-world scenarios. Participants ultimately develop new behaviors through ongoing reflection and peer learning.
Upon completion, participants receive a prestigious McKinsey Forward digital badge and gain entry into an exclusive global network of young, life-long learners.
Program Structure
Foundation Level (8 weeks, 2 hours per week)
- Build core leadership and business fundamentals

Advanced Level (11 weeks, 2 hours per week)

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Reside in Africa: Currently live on the African continent (all countries eligible)
- Employment Status: Currently employed, self-employed, or in between jobs
- Experience Level: Have less than 5 years of total work experience
- OR have more than 5 years of work experience but have never directly managed colleagues
- Education: Have completed at least secondary education / high school degree
- Language: Have a good command of the English language (program conducted in English)
