About The Program

The Oando/NEPL JV Tertiary Scholarship Scheme 2026 is a prestigious educational intervention initiative by Nigerian Energy Production Limited (NEPL) in joint venture with Oando Energy Resources Nigeria Limited (OERNL). This scholarship program is designed to support academically talented Nigerian undergraduates pursuing degrees in critical fields relevant to the oil and gas industry.

Scholarship Categories

The scheme offers two distinct award categories:

1. National Merit Award
  • Eligible Courses: Engineering, Geology, Geosciences, and Agricultural Sciences
  • Open to: All qualified 100 level students in Nigerian tertiary institutions
2. Host Communities Merit Award
  • Eligible States: Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, and Imo States
  • Open to: Indigenes of Oando Host/Transit Communities in the listed states
  • Additional Requirements: Letter from Community Paramount Ruler and CDC Chairman

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants MUST meet the following requirements:

  • Level: Be a registered FULL-TIME 100 level undergraduate at the time of application
  • Institution: Be enrolled in a recognized Nigerian tertiary institution
  • Academic Standing: Must be certified 100 level students
  • Exclusivity: NOT be a current beneficiary of similar awards from other companies and agencies (especially International Oil and Gas scholarships)
  • Relationship: NOT be a dependent of staff of Oando PLC and its subsidiaries
  • Aptitude Test: Must score minimum 50% in the online aptitude test

📌 200 level students and above are NOT eligible to apply.

Applicants must upload clearly scanned copies of:

  • Passport photograph (white background, 450px by 450px, not more than 200kb, JPEG format)
  • School ID Card
  • O’level Certificate
  • Admission Letter
  • Birth Certificate
  • Proof of Local Government Area of Origin
  • JAMB Result
  • Compliance Form (Download from portal)
  • Letter from Community Paramount Ruler (Host Communities applicants only)
  • Letter from CDC Chairman (Host Communities applicants only)

  4. Return to the scholarship portal and login with your registered email and password
  5. Enter your personal information, National Identification Number (NIN) (if available), and educational information
  6. Upload all required scanned documents
  7. Ensure the name used matches all documentation (upload sworn affidavit if otherwise)
  8. View all documents after uploading to eliminate errors
  9. Click “Apply Now” to submit information
  10. You will receive email and SMS confirmation of successful application
  11. Download your profile and have your Head of Department sign the document
  12. Upload a scanned copy of the signed profile for verification
  13. Download and upload the filled Compliance Form

📌 NIN is not compulsory to complete your application, but you can obtain it at http://ninenrol.gov.ng and update your application later.

Selection Process

  • Stage 1: Online application and document submission
  • Stage 2: Initial review and shortlisting
  • Stage 3: Online aptitude test (only shortlisted candidates will be contacted)
  • Stage 4: Final selection based on aptitude test performance (minimum 50% required)
